Not As Kinky As You Think

I found this to be an interesting article on a recent study. It fails to mention our specific interest but you should certainly read all the way to the end. Personally I'd take some of the conclusions with a grain of salt but the general trend definitely points to there being less "normal" out there than one might have expected twenty years ago. 8-)

People have almost always had things like this. I mean a lot of our sexual desires come from our surroundings and what we're brought up with. A thousand years ago in Africa obese women were seen as goddesses and the body to strive for, purely because food wasn't in such abundance as it is now so it implied wealth and power. Nowadays obesity is a sign of an unhealthy lifestyle and not something to strive for.

I recall reading something about sexual desires and fetishes outside of intercourse really picked up during the HIV epidemic. Though I don't believe that it had a big impact on desires as other authors have claimed. But their theory is that "if sex is out of the question... we'll find other things to do"! But nowadays we don't have such an epidemic and things are getting safer for sex. But we still have these mad crazy desires to sink in quicksand, be wrapped up by snakes or get off on furry porn, kiss feet and other things that really make absolutely no sense whatsoever!

I was a psychologist for a while. Or rather I studied it and fell out with the subject. But this topic really interests me still. I mean the human mind evolved to this point through self-preservation and faulty DNA, the whole purpose is to survive and do the best it can. So why do we even have kinky desires? Gah. Can of worms. Let's just go sinking, K.

I recall being extremly interested is seeing a woman sinking in quicksand at the age of 4 or 5. I couldn't coralate that the feeling of numbness, tighness of chest/ labored breathing, loss of speach was me getting turned on. I mean; what is that kick-stand thing for when it makes it hard to pee? But... why do I want to hug her when she gets out of the quicksand too? All I knew was; Don't show Mom or Dad!!! Don't talk about it, either. It's not wrong- just don't talk about it.
Kinda like "Fight Club"?? :P ing myself?

So rescue the damsel, then procreate? got it! :D :cry: Wait a minute; if thats the only way I can get the girl... :geek: :cry:

All I know is;
This forum, Deep Sinking, the current stock of producers and the actresses, and going all the way back to Rob Blaine in the late '90s have helped me come to grips with this fetish. I have been able to put a lid on this "Little Sand Monster". I know when he can go out and play, and when to let others know about him too.
Quicksand? On the internet? I love this Planet!

And about your other comments. I used to be excited by quicksand as a child too. Infact another of my fetishes also came from that era, though I think they're related.

I used to love watching films where people were wrapped up by snakes. I even distinctly remember at age 5, rolling myself up in a play mat. Around that age I used to ask my parents about quicksand too. One question I remember asking was "what would happen if you put a finger in quicksand? are you stuck forever?". :D

Despite all that daftness I grew up just fine :D and nobody would know any different.
