Ok as a female of he species, I believe I might be qualified to say I hope she wanders into quicksand and sinks to her death, while people stand back and watch.
she is living proof that some people should NOT breed

I totally agree, would have chosen something with red hot pinchers instead of quicksand though...that's too good for her.

I don't know about this at all so all my info is from the Wikipedia page on it. But why should someone found innocent be so despised?

Because EVERYTHING points to her not being innocent, and from what I heard, she lied about pretty much everything in the trial, and still got away with it.

The worst part of this is shes going to write a ****ing book or something now and probably become rich.

Saw this coming a mile away......
Did she do it? Probably. Is there enough evidence to convict her of it? Nope. Not guilty.
Our justice system is based on the belief that it is better to let ten guilty men go free rather then put one innocent man in jail. It wasn't that the defense was good, it wasn't that the prosecution was bad, it's simply the way things are supposed to work. You're either proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt or you aren't. A funky smelling car trunk, a piece of duct tape and a skeleton with no proven cause of death shouldn't be enough to send anyone to death row.
Get pissed about it if you wantb but if it's ever your ass in the sling, you'll be glad it is the way it is.
Why they didn't charge the bitch with child endangerment I have no clue. That would've been open and shut. You're kid disappears for a month and you dont' call the police and report it? Yea you're ass should be in jail.

American media has a REALLY bad habit of trying and convicting people in a court of NBC long before they're ever tried in a court of law. Our Journalists have absolutely no integrity and will do/say/imply anything that will start the biggest riot and net them the best ratings.

Pretty much the case. It would have been wrong on the evidence presented and the charges brought. They got it right even though she is probably guilty of something more then child endangerment. True though, they would have got her on that. Perhaps they just figured with the situation she would be found guiltly on the top count. Even with some of the stunts they pulled, and the judge allowing it, they still couldn't just sway the jury to convict on painting a bad picture.

In the end most of us will feel she got away with a horrible crime. However the case was not good enough for a conviction.

Not to derail the thread but yeah, you should see what UK journalists have been doing. Hacking into the phones of murdered girls and terrorist victims. Huge storm brewing over it at the moment.

I've followed it off and on but not enough to talk details.

I don't know if she killed her daughter or not. One thing that's not in doubt, though, is that she was a mighty crappy mother.

I agree that in the absence of enough evidence to support a murder charge, it would have made more sense to try for a conviction on a charge that was fully supported. It may have been less of a punishment than death row, but it certainly may have been more than this...

I sat on a jury long ago and the judge emphasized "reasonable doubt" rather than "shadow of a doubt" to prevent a hung jury!

^^Correct, my bad, the exact saying is "reasonable" doubt. Pretty much amounts to the same thing though. The point is if you're going to send someone to jail or kill them you better be damn sure they did the crime first.
