He has gotten very comfortable with you.
He also is apparently very comfortable on soft cushions and quilts!
He has a good daddy (you).
It has been awhile since the last Charlie update! Good to see that he's a happy dog these days.
The Ness-Rodent (white rat) is also fat and happy. Until my situation settles down and I have extra money again, I've downsized my furry critter needs to a little fellow who snuggles with me but doesn't require everything that a dog needs.
I love all furry critters...and yes, I know that they love us back.

Charlie has a morning trick. When he wants to wake me up, instead of nudging, he makes noise until I open my eyes, then he SITS UP, both front paws in beg position. Stays there, straight up. Toooooooooooooo cute.

Aww...adorable...!
My last doggie, Tara, was not always my doggie. She lived with her first Mommy for about seven years before her first Mommy died...and then she came to live with me.
When Tara was just out of puppyhood, I visited her first Mommy and stayed for a few nights.
You have not lived until you've been awaked by a wiener dog being deliberately unleashed on your bed in the early morning. Yes, she could jump all the way up onto the mattress even though her legs were only two inches long. Yes, she could jump on me...and yes, she nosed me in the face and yipped me awake.
In later years she toned it down to a petulant whine while jumping up and down on the wooden floor of the bedroom. It took a year for her to realize that her new Mommy waking up did not automatically mean going out right away...but what I want to know is...
Why keeping your eyes closed and not moving doesn't work. Dogs really do know when you're faking sleep.
