Question for Boot Lovers

Postby Duncan Edwards » Thu Sep 08, 2011 2:04 pm

I like a pair of tight leather thigh highs on great legs as much as any guy but for the most part I don't get a big lift from footwear. I want to hear from those that consider themselves to be boot oriented.

There's a pretty girl in the swamp wearing boots. What else should she be wearing? A prom dress? Shorts? Bikini bottom? Nothing at all? Does the boot style determine the wardrobe? Please give us your feelings on this. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Ahhh...my OTHER big fetish...

There's something about a set of long, super-shiny, slinky boots with stiletto heels on a woman that drives me absofuckinglutely nuts. And for reasons I can't really explain, I somehow came to associate it with quicksand and mud, even though there's no real reason why. I have no memories that explain the connection in my mind. The only thing I can figure is that somehow the shine of one evokes the other, and the body-hugging quality of each of them does the same thing. I don't like the tops loose, and they have to be shiny. Weird colors don't do it, either--brown, black, grey or red, no blues, greens, purples or anything with sequins or things like that. Ankle boots don't do much for me either--ideally, they need to strike at least just below the knee in length, or go higher. Long leather opera gloves have almost exactly the same effect on me.

If I had to pick clothes that go with boots, I'd probably pick really tight jeans--that's nearly my favorite way to see a knee- or thigh-length boot being worn, with jeans tucked into it. Failing that, a shiny leather or latex skirt. Like the one here:

A long, flowing latex dress with a thigh slit is kewl too. Yeah, I know that's all kinds of practical in a swamp, but hey, I'm sure plenty of lost dominatrices find themselves walking through Dead Man's Bog on the way to a party or something...

Yeah, this turned into a ramble about a few of my multitude of fetishes. Sorry about that.

Let me weigh in on the subject...

Boots:
I like black, white, brown, tan, burgundy, red, and yellow.
I like over the knee, and thigh high boots at mid thigh, and knee-high if they're just below the knee.
I like zip up, pull-on and lace up boots. Waders and rubber boots are a no-no.
I like patent leather, shiny leather, pigleather, and synthetic (PUR). Rubber is OK if its a riding boot or Pleasers Seduce 4002. I don't care for suede.
Heels can be a 1" square, as on a riding boot, block (chunky) if its 2" or higher, medium square straight heel, or spike if its not more that 3" high. Stillettos just don't get it because they're too fragile and break easily.
I like boots with a short rounded point, a square toe, or a rounded toe. I don't like those long, pointy toes.
I like boots with a thinner sole (1/2" or so). Platform boots just don't work well.

Outfits:
Jeans, light blue with all colors of boots, or heavily faded with black, brown, burgundy or red boots. Jeans worn tucked into the boots. Boots can be any style, but over the knee length is best.
Shorts can be any material and color, thigh length or shorter.
Skirts can be any material and color, but should be above the knee.
T-shirts and blouses are best, but tank tops, halter tops and bikini tops are OK. Shirts, blouses and tank tops should either be worn tucked in, or show bare midriff.
White tops are best, black is my second choice, but any color will work.
Belts and hats are a great accessories.

The mud:
My favorite is red-brown, followed by grey, and black. The best mud is knee deep, thick, sticky, clumpy gumbo- the kind that boots get stuck in, the kind that 4-wheel drive trucks and ATV's get stuck in, and covers everything with a thick layer of opaque mud. Clay with the consistency of peanut butter, or the desert quicksand/quicksilt is good too. Peat bogs are ok, but the stuff doesn't cover well enough to suit my tastes.

Suggestions for scenes and locations:
A photographer and her assistant(s) are doing a photo shoot documenting wildlife. The opening scene shows them arriving by car. They know the area is really muddy, and begin discussing what subjects they are looking for, the area, and their change of clothing. We see them changing into their clothes, and then putting on their boots. Then they grab their gear and make their way to the mud holes. Lots of (difficult) walking around in the mud, getting stuck and digging out by hand, struggles to get free, wiping muddy hands on jeans, splashes and splatters, minor trips and falls resulting in butt coverage only, and comments about how thick/deep/sticky the mud is. Prefer to keep total mud coverage to the very end, just before the cleanup scene at the creek/pond/hose.

Any of the desert quicksand places, or quarry, or muddy bogs would be good.

I've always preferred white high-top sneakers as the footwear of choice for a woman. There's just something sexy about a woman wearing white sneakers, especially if she is a female bodybuilder in her thick, voluptuous, off-season shape, is dressed in a skimpy athletic outfit, and gets stuck in quicksand or mud. :D

That said, I do like the looks of snug-fitting, conforming lace-up boots of black or brown leather that are about mid to almost upper-calf high that are strapped around the large, flaring calves of a voluptuous female bodybuilder in her off-season shape. The outfit of choice would be black thong bikini briefs and a white t-shirt, halter top, or snug-fitting polo shirt. This image of Jill Livoti from the Women's Physique World website gives you an idea of what I'm talking about...

What I like about high lace-up boots is the stuck factor you get with thick mud. The suction gripping such boots anchors the gal quite solidly in the mud. And, in spite of her strength and power, the muscle babe's thick, curvy, powerful legs aren't enough to free her as she sinks deeper and gets more stuck as she struggles.

Time to put my two cents worth in. I love boots, but I prefer knee-high to thigh-high. I like them with miniskirts or shorts. The color doesn't matter to me. I will say that, if she's wearing nylons, I prefer natural colors. Colored nylons like black, red, blue or green just don't appeal to me.

I'm the sort that likes to watch a woman's legs struggle as she tries to extricate herself. For me, a slow sink with plenty of leg action is the best for me. We watch as she's first up to her ankles, then her calves, followed by her knees, thighs, and just below the hemline of her skirt or shorts.

I've always liked the damsel-in-distress scene where the damsel is clearly out of place and is not appropriately dressed for the situation she gets herself into. With boots and quicksand, it could be a businesswoman in stiletto heels who takes a shortcut after her car breaks down. It could also be a cheerleader, baton twirler, or marching band member who goes into the swamp to meet her boyfriend or perhaps wanders away from camp and gets lost.

Of course, as some of you have probably noticed from "Theme Park Guides in Quicksand," (how's that for a shameless plug?) I really like white knee socks.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on the subject.

*another delurk*

Thanks for asking the question Duncan! As a guy who is into both boots and QS, I've really struggled with this question most of my life. I like both, but do they really go together? In several ways, I think the two preferences are kind of incompatible, as you really can't see both at the same time (e.g. if you can see the boots, they really aren't sinking. If they are sinking, then you don't see the boots). Plus there is the larger issue of why would they even be wearing boots in a swamp/jungle/marsh/wherever in the first place which the question really goes to.

To answer your question, I think what they are wearing really depends on the the scenario. I've had difficulty with figuring out for a modern day story why you would have any woman wandering around a swamp in patent thigh highs. It seems out of place as a costuming choice, and that really kills my belief in the story. Stories making sense are important to me (and I suspect to others). If you have to force the costume choice because its out of place, then it really feels contrived and not even close to real. I'm one of those guys who like the "terror" Hollywood sinks, the victim needs to stumble into it and be scared. I guess if you are into "sexy sinks" then this isn't an issue and you can wear whatever. But those sexy sinks feel manufactured/unreal to me (not that there is anything wrong with them, I think we can all agree that people here fall into different sub-camps). I guess part of it is that women don't really wear patent thigh highs around town (though attitudes towards OTKs are changing) so why would they be wearing that uncommon footwear in an even more likely location of a swamp?

I've always gravitated towards sci-fi/fantasy stories because these stories are nicely suited to a combination of boots and QS. These stories feature women who often go adventuring into remote environments where QS can be found. Sci-fi/fantasy heroines also routinely wear boots as part of their outfit whether its fantasy (e.g. Jenseits der Morgenrote; Princess Bride) or sci-fi (e.g. Starcrash) and then manage to find QS. So for me, these genres are perfect for both interests. Probably why most of the stories I write are set here.

Modern stories are a lot harder. I need a good reason for why a person is wandering around the swamp in boots (or any heels or other inappropriate outfit for that matter). If given a choice, I really like professional attire (suits, nice blouses, pencil skirts, knee boots). But it is hard to find reasons for why they are wearing that and then sinking. I'm starting to think I'm running ideas for stories here.

Anyway, long answer to a simple question. Short answer is that any boots are good (except cowboys) so long as it makes sense for the story. Hope that helps,

Rusty

All of the responses are greatly appreciated. One thing that really struck me is the detail that all of you went into. Broadly speaking I think I've learned this -

You're all far more into details than I am. Most people are.

There is no more one way to do boots than there is quicksand scenes.

I knew wardrobe was important to some folks but probably more so to ya'll.

I don't need anything about my fantasies to be plausible. I don't make documentaries so in the true Ed Wood porn movie style I don't care how they get there or much about what they are wearing. That is definitely a major difference.

I may have wasted my time on the girl in my avatar. (Not her, I changed it again.)

Thanks again people. Please feel free to chime in any time on anything you think doesn't get enough attention. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.
