Nifty website I stumbled on while searching for an Xmas gift. Figured my fellow zombie fans and anybody interested in sharp objects would like it. I'm definitely buying a few of those beer cozies and maybe a Reaper to go along with them.

$30 is fine if you want or don't mind a piece of flimsy chinese stainless with an edge ground into it. Good metal and good craftsmanship cost money man. Take a look at their build process and tell me if you think that $30 Kurki on Bud K is made with anywhere near that quality. It's fine for clearing the weeds out of your back yard but if you want a full-on, no shit survival weapon that can take a head off if need be, you're going to have to drop some serious change.

BudK can sometimes have some poor quality steel -- usually made in Pakistan, not China. That product may only be good for clearing brush out of the box, but half an hour with a grinder and a whet stone, and I promise it'll take off appendages in one swing. Whether and for how long it will hold that edge is just something you have to take into account when purchasing the thing; I'm fine with having to occasionally sharpen my blade.

All that aside, I can promise you that the Ka-Bar product on Cheaper Than Dirt is a reliable, good-quality product. At $50, it's still significantly cheaper than the spray-painted, trumped-up "zombie" blade, and is very likely of better construction. You're welcome to dispute that, but my money is on the company that makes blades which actually go into combat, rather than the one which promises to hold up in a fantasy scenario.

You can get a quality knife for a decent price, no doubt. The K-Bar is a great example of that (I paid $70 for mine, CTD has great deals). It's when you get into blades 12" and longer you have to start being more choosy about what they're made out of. A really great example of why can be found on ZT's FAQ (the "Imfamous Shopping Channel Guy vs. The Stainless Steel Katana" video).

These guys have combined the usability of a machete, with the abuseability of a rough use knife, with the bad-assness of a sword. You can find cheaper stuff that'll serve the purpose but style counts with me.

There's nothing more battle ready then something that's been through a battle haha....that bolo is bad ass.
I'm likeing the M-1's too. Is the one with the paratrooper stock original or did you switch it over? Those go for a mint and a half at gun shows around here.
That launcher wouldn't be an actual Panzerfauste would it? I'm not up on real heavy artillary because the ATF won't let me play with it anyway, but that's what comes to mind.

The Bolo is an original ACC Company dated 1918... the Carbine is an 800,000 range dating from mid 1943. I also have a June/July 1942 dated Carbine which is like second or third month of production in the 11,000 range. The M1A1 (Paratrooper carbine) had been rebuilt, and when I received it it had a full stock, however since it is well within the known serial number range of the paratroopers I obtained a reproduction stock for it... There was no rhyme nor reason to them... they were built right along side full stocked versions on the assembly lines.

I do WWII Reenacting and living history displays as a hobby... some of my displays are in my facebook profile... feel free to take a look. I was able to display at the Dayton Ohio Airshow back in July among others.

As far as the M1A1 rocket launcher, it is a 1:1 scale replica... full size and full weight. The rockets you see are original practice rockets (inert). Having seen the real thing, this replica is scary close to the original. It also lacks the firing circuit. I wouldn't have been able to afford it if it had been real... A real one would be considered a class III destructive device and the cost of the real thing and the tax stamp and licensing would be more than I could possibly afford.
