Music Video with Brinke Stevens

The earlier post about Nyssa Nevers in a music video got me to thinking about how many of the ladies in our genre have done something similar. I doubt any of them would predate this one with Brinke Stevens. How many of us recall Gimmee Gimmee Good Loving by Helix? Watch for Brinke gyrating all over the place 28 years ago.

Oh, and yes, the insanely hot and young looking blonde is Tracy Lords. 8-)

A moment of silence please for the 1678 cans of hairspray that gave their lives for this video.

Amazing how Brinke just keeps on popping up, huh? Beats Where's Waldo all to hell... ;)

And yet another reminder of how distinct the 80s were... ;)

Again, Duncan, NICE!!! :D

Yeah, I remember the song, I really enjoyed that video, and it was great seeing Brinke amongst the lovely ladies!

Yes, VERY DISTINCT! As in, really using real stringed guitars (and quite a few of them) to really make real music and real rock and roll!

Thanks for sharing, Duncan!

Indeed. It represents chlorofluorocarbons well spent. Big hair is but one of the things I miss about the 80's. The last decade with personality.

Oh man! I hear you loud and clear there brother. Last week at the skating rink they had a DJ who was younger than the holes in my socks. For three hours he managed to play NOTHING with a melody. It was all auto-tunes generated pseudo rap crap that was sucking my soul right out through my ears. Every time I hear the music industry blame file sharing for lousy sales I just want to laugh. Everything they promote appeals to kids from 13-18, has no crossover appeal, and sounds like...just...crapshitnoisesoundfartgas bad.

Anyhow Brinke is hot. Then and now. Thank God some things are timeless. 8-)

Meanwhile, my 16 year old listens to the "oldies" station (60s & 70s) and the Classic Rock station. Her (legally purchased) digital library of music is supremely eclectic, from Sinatra to Steppenwolf, from Celtic Folk to Fergie. She was listening to some new music she bought yesterday (Mumford and sons) and I yelled jokingly at her "Too mellow!!!"

There are actually two versions of this video. On the old VHS tape Red Hot Rocks, there is an "adult" version where all the girls (including our favorite, Ms. Brinke) appear topless.

Brinke is also on this video from the Time of Purple Rain fame:

I have seen a list of artists that had Brinke in their videos, but, unfortunately, the song titles weren't listed. If anyone else knows of other music videos with her, please post.

Ah, a TRUE fan of REAL music! :D How refreshing!

Yeah, I'm not keen when synthesizers and those weird, shallow electric drums are the basis of music, especially when it comes to rock and roll. KISS, Van Halen, AC/DC, Heart... now THAT'S how it's supposed to be done... and THAT'S the way these groups still do it when we are fortunate enough to have them come back out on stage to preform! As they say, if it works...

Yep, I hear ya... just like good old rock and roll. Even Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison have some of this modern stuff beat. Buddy and Roy are truly timeless... just like Brinke!

Hey, well done there. I remember this silly song and the video from the couple of times it played on a big video screen at a favorite dance spot back in the day. Just to show how special certain "moments" are I wanted to study the ladies falling into the moat more. Adult versions were common then too. Girls on Film by Duran Duran is probably the best example. I think we need to locate this one. Nice work. 8-)

Ah, the power of Google video search -

Amazing! The topless version has survived for several years on Youtube without some asshole flagging it -
