Quicksand Fans

Has this idea ever come up before?
A gal wonders into some quicksand and starts sinking. But as it turns out this gal has a split personality. As she's/they're calling for help a rescuer shows up and starts to help out.
Then the gal sinking starts saying "No help (let's says) Sally first." Then the rescuer says "Help who?" Then the gal sinking says "No take (let's say) Nancy first. I insist." This gets kicked back and forth as the rescuer becomes naturally confused at first but then catches on as to the situation.
Has this angle ever been considered before?
Oh by the way I just picked those names out at random.

Well there is one (scene) called "Martha" in which the principle character appears to be an orderly from a hospital searching for an escaped patient called Martha who apparently is obsessed by the idea of sinking. The orderly, of course, IS Martha.
