Quicksand Fans

I just had one done yesterday...OMG it hurts so effin bad there aren't enough curse words to describe the pain.now that you've heard me whine does anybody on this forum know if they are supposed to be this painful? thanks for any input.

Abdominal, ie, femoral route?

Had one done in May, barely felt a thing -- that mind you was plan B, since Plan A was supposed to be the radial artery, and that didn't go as planned (artery spasming, couldnt insert) And THAT, let me tell you is pain. Prob the worst ever felt.

So, no, dont think it should be that much pain. its not something you get done regularly, but all info and experience indicates that if you hurting that bad, something outside the norm. Take it easy and hang in there, and dont wait for the docs to fiddle about. Make sure the nurses know, they the ones who really run things anyways

thanks for theinfo but i am already home and faced with the possibility of checking into the ER

WOW, I just had an angioplasty a couple weeks ago, they went in through the radial artery and I barely felt a thing. At the most was a slight discomfort once the cath was into my chest. I was wide awake but pretty heavily sedated (I couldn't even lift my arm off the table ) I've never heard of going through the abdomen?

Thanks Nessie,I'm feeling much better...glad I didn't "panic" and go to ER like I first thought I would...have followed discharge instructions to the letter...and thanks again,that was very thoughtful of you...P.S love ur work!!

I have not had this procedure myself and wouldn't know if it should or shouldn't be painful, but...when a member's last post says "ER", that, I remember.

I'm relieved and happy to hear that you feel better! Whew!
