I do most of my editing using Adobe Premier version 2. It can use AVI, MPG, MPEG, MOV, DLX, WMV, and several other formats for input, but it does not specifically list MPEG 4 or FLV. There might be software that can convert what you have to one of these. That being said, Premier is not cheap.

You might try looking at Windows Movie Maker. Its free and just MIGHT accept the format you have.

Is there any downloadable software that you can use to do this? Any help appreciated!

I paid the one time $59 unlimited access fee for all software there.

Hi,

For my big stuff, I use Adobe Premier, but it's very expensive.

For my small stuff, and what I used before I got Premier is a nice little program called Videomach.

There are 3 different versions. I have the Standard version which is about 30 dollars and it works very well.

Good luck!

Windows MovieMaker, which is free, should work fine if minor editing is all you want to do. It came with my computer (bought in 2005). My version of MovieMaker, though, had a glitch in it.

I could only make videos about fifteen minutes long. More than that and it would never actually render them. It would sit and crunch away, thinking about rendering them, and insisting that it was working on this, but it wasn't doing anything.

So I bought Magix Movie Edit Pro. It was about $50. That's what I'm using now. I think it is pretty user-friendly.

try looking at these. And here you can find reviews.

I work with Final Cut Pro, personally. If you're a Mac person, and particularly if you can qualify for an educational discount, it is the way to go. An entire family of products, tightly integrated, for video, audio, DVD authoring, and graphics.
