Ouch! Hopefully the damage to the ships isn't as bad as the damage to the CO's careers. . .

I was just reading about that collision today. The cruiser involved is a Ticonderoga class cruiser with Aegis suvlance system. Aegis is the radar/suvalance system on that class of ship (as well as the Arlie Burke class destroyer).

I remember in January 1950 the Battleship Missouri ran aground in Chesapeake Bay that pretty much ended the Captains Naval career as well as several other brigde officers.
Maybe the punishment should be walking the plank into some quicksand.
