The ad in the paper said simply "Old Army Rifle--Make Offer". Called the number and got this old lady on the phone who knew nothing about guns and couldn't even get the case open because she had arthritis. So I basically said what the hell I'll come out and look at it. Figured it would be an M1 Garand or something similar. Drove two hours to the lady's house. walked in the door and this is what was laying on the table.
Got the rifle, case, two mags and about 400 rounds of ammo for $300. Felt kind of bad but she had a big house and a fairly new cadillac sitting in the driveway so I figured she wasn't going to starve to death. Don't know how a little old lady came to own an AR15 but now it's MINE!!!

Excellent deal and very, very, lucky to be the first one in line. Here's Kristine with an AR-15 but it's chambered for a .50 Beowulf. Find a pretty girl who can keep it on target and get us some pictures.

I believe it's "Homo Sapiens and their guns..." ...Isn't it?
I'm only saying that because I had the exact same reaction and thought of the exact same scene when this was posted.

Nice find!
A guy I worked with once found a '50s Harley full dresser at a barn sale. 600 original miles. She wanted $300 for it. He paid the lady, and went home to get his truck (was on his bike at the time.) Unfortunately for him, by the time he got back somebody else told the lady what it was really worth.

No, I think it should be "You Americans and your guns."
Excuse me while I take a moment yet again to be thankful that we don't have a second amendment to the constitution over here.
Or a constitution.

Tell me about it. The current situation being what it is I couldn't even find a low end model like this for less the $800 at a gun show or shop--and that's just the price of the rifle.
Hit the range right after I posted yesterday. Shot a 6" group at 100 yards. Not bad for a carbine with peep sights but it's shooting a little to the right. Should be ready for some mods once I figure out how to adjust that.

Yeah, ain't it great? Our Home Guard will never be armed with pikes, clubs, and rocks.
