Here's some fun that could be done with props that could be used for a possible story.
For example a gal/guy is walking along a swampy area when they see a hand sticking out of the muck. Thinking the worst they run over to help the person out only to find it's a fake rubber hand someone put there as a prank. Then they hear hysterical laughter coming from behind a tree or bushes. This gal set them up. Then as revenge the prankster gets dunked for real by the one that got pranked and asks "Could you use a hand in getting out?"
What other prop fun can we come up with?

I could probably think of a bunch of things to do with a prop arm, and a whole lot more for, say, six prop arms.

If this question was to me I don't recall the event.

Hm... might have been one of those You Be the Writer segments from way back... maybe a couple years or so.
Anyway, the use of a necklace could be something to consider. I recently watched the cartoon scene from Jonny Quest where Jessie Bannon had a necklace removed from her after being fished out of quicksand... then promptly dropped back in. That could be done in live action I would think...
A series around a cursed necklace is another thought too... much like Das Boots... except it being a long, interconnecting story of individual scenes where, say, the necklace is first stolen, the thief ends up in quicksand, tries to use the necklace to escape by looping it around a branch or something, but vanishes, leaving the necklace in place. The next one, someone tries to grab it, and she falls in and vanishes.... the third scene has a pair of ladies succeed, but on their way out of the forest then fight over it, and someone ends up in quicksand with the necklace... while her former friend takes it from her and watches as she slips under.... and on we go...

Yes, I like the idea of the cursed necklace

Re: prop fun...
PM2K is correct. The original suggestion was made by Nachtjaeger, way back in December of 2009.

Re: prop fun...
Nice to know my brain isn't as off as I think it is...
What really appeals to me about this idea is how relatively simple it would be to execute - ingredients: one necklace, one or two actresses and the quicksand pit of your choice - and yet one can make it as complicated story-wise as you want to. Given the right costumes, one can pretty much do as one will with it.

Personally, I believe using props simply for the sake of it is not a good idea. It is corny, forced, and I'll go ahead and say it: lame. I believe the same is true for gimmick/pun/whatever titles or dialogue for scenes as well, which you have brought up in the past if I recall correctly. Writing and filming an entire scene built around a single prop or pun or joke or whathaveyou is kind of really awkward and isn't as funny as you think it will be....
I'm not sure that the discussion of 'prop fun' is all that bad. jagfiles has sent me quite a few zingers over the years via email. Some were good, others not so good (way corny). I have enjoyed them. And I wouldn't want him to stop thinking about them.
I think as ideas, they can be enjoyed as a mental exercise, or a pastime if you will.
