Quicksand Fans

This worth a note - fifty years ago today I received perhaps the BEST present of my life, picture attached taken in 1962 and I still have it, in a barn in the back of my yard. It is aging a bit these days and needs repair, but here when both the car and myself were much younger. Happy Christmas BTW is the salutation given by Henry VIII in the superb Showtime series THE TUDORS and I think it fits very well indeeed.

That is really cool. I'm (retroactively) jealous. I never got anything as cool as that!

My Dad gave my brother and me a motorized buckboard (sort of a two seat go kart) for Christmas in 1964. We used it for 10 years - it was a cool present - not as formal as your vehicls, bit still fun. I remember every minute to this day.

There are some childhood presents you never forget. I recall I got a Beany doll when I was five years old. I was a little kid, but I was nuts about "Beany & Cecil." I still kick myself for having gotten rid of it.

I still have a little stuffed dog I got when I was two. It was supposed to be my mom's Easter hat, but, at J.L. Hudson's in Detroit, my parents saw I was so enamored with that toy dog, they got him for me.

Looking at that car, I wonder what sort of safety regulations the thing would be violating today. I can just hear the uproar over someone marketing a BB gun to children like that kid Ralphie in "A Christmas Story." At least with the car, I don't think you'd shoot your eye out.

P.S. I'm still a fan of Beany & Cecil. Now, I can't believe the incredible number of puns they had! I'd like to see someone compare them with Bullwinkle for the most number of puns per episode.

Pretty epic. Is it a pedal car or does it run off of a battery/gas engine? I've seen the Shriners drive little mini cars like that but I've never seen one made for a kid.
