I would like to offer my condolences as well. I personally have not had to suffer the loss of a K-9 just yet for I haven't had one sense I was but a little one. I do however understand mostly where you are coming from for my gf's dog recently past away. She was crushed deeply from it and I was there the whole time trying to be strong for her. She had her dog Max for a good 15 years sense she too was a little one so it was really hard on her. I'm truely sorry...

Thanks for the kind thoughts and words gang.

Pepper wasn't really a "fur-child", nor was she "just" a pet. Her previous pack-leader died, and his mate couldn't take care of her, so she came to us. Once I established myself as pack-leader (not hard with her) I had her obedience- not out of fear, but out of respect. I earned her love.
Weredragonlady and I are about half wolf anyway, so Pepper integrated into our pack perfectly. It's a totally different dynamic being a pack member instead of a pet owner. I can't really describe it.
