The other day at work the store manger printed out a little flyer for the employees that included the following quote....
"All my life I thought air was free...
until I bought a bag of chips."

Huh?

Speaking of language, baseball pitcher Dizzy Dean was notorious for mangling the English language after he became a radio announcer. Some teachers complained to him one time about his syntax.

"Sin tax?" he answered. "Are them jokers in Washington putting a tax on that, too?"

LOL....it's only free because the bastards haven't found a way to tax breathing yet. Just wait they'll figure something out.

What they really need to tax is hot air, so there's so much of it coming from Washington and almost every state capital. However, we can expect that, just as they've done with everything else, Congress will exempt themselves from a tax they've created for everyone else.

There are air stations in Japan and China where people can buy clean air/oxygen to breathe for temporary relief from the extreme pollution there.

I doubt that's an issue in Japan. They're the only country that I know of with stricter environmental laws then the US.
China on the other hand.....I read somewhere that if you lived in Shanghai or Beijing you were basically smoking a pack of cigarettes a day just breathing the air. The pollution indicators on the US embassy regularly can't be read because they go off the scale.

Tokyo, Japan was one of the polluted cities mentioned having air stations, while the other was Beijing, China.

Beijing's pollution became an issue when they had the Olympics there in 2008. Perhaps the most well-known incident involved Chinese television using computer enhancements on the broadcasts of the fireworks display at the opening ceremony. They did this because of concerns the fireworks wouldn't look good with Beijing's infamous smog.

Methinks China could use some environmental activism.
