Hi All,

UMD regulars are probably already aware of this, but Bill Shipton passed on Friday.

For those of you who don't know, Bill was one of the three Godfathers of WAM as it known today (Roger and Mike being the other two). There are certainly others in the picture, not the least of which Rob Blaine here in the U.S. But these were the guys that inspired Rob, for example, and paved the way for thousands of wammers to get on with their lives, knowing that they are not alone.

Never met him, but thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family and everybody else that did know him.

I never heard of the man, but, if he was one of those whose actions eventually led to my realization that my fascination with women in mud and quicksand wasn't so weird after all, then I wish I had heard of him and I salute him.

I suspect that, without people like Mr. Shipton, people like Kaol wouldn't have been inspired to do what they did. He's the man who showed me that I was far from being alone in my fascination with quicksand. He inspired me to put my creative skills to creating quicksand art.

Thank you, Kaol, and thank, you posthumously, Mr. Shipton.
