Call it a peripheral fetish interest but I've always been fascinated by extreme physical efforts and especially so with women. Diana Nyad is on her fifth attempt over the last 35 years to swim from Havana to Key West. Right now, this morning, at the age of 64, it appears she might actually make it. Follow her progress the last few miles on her blog or on CNN.

Awesome! Age doesn't seem to be an insurmountable barrier to athletic feats. I remember seeing a video of Jack LaLane going for a swim on his 80th birthday. In San Francisco Bay. With his ankles tied together. Towing two rowboats full of reporters and photographers.
