This has absolutely nothing to do with quicksand but I thought it was a cool site. Its a live camera view of a very busy railroad crossing in a town in Indiana. Actually there are two, one lookiing west and one looking east from pretty much the same location. There is a long freight train going through in ne direction or the other abut every ten minutes.

A little bit more about this rail cam. Apparently, the location is also some sort of railroad museum, doubling as a restaurant. That would explain, at least hypothetically, the fact that almost every evening there are one or two cars parked in site with people standing around who are obviously just watching the trains.

One just did. He/she made it through without getting clobbered but clearly went through a two-track crossing with the gates all the way down.

Having watched this site quite a bit for a week or so I can report that I have observed someone attempting this at least once a day. Just now, a moron in a pickup went through the gates as they came down and about six seconds later ANOTHER even bigger idiot weaved right through the downed gates. As the train went through at about 50 mph he missed getting turned into jelly by less than 10 seconds. I am very sorry for the train drivers who have to face the possibility of hitting a car rather frequently.

I shed no tears and have nothing but contempt for fucking idiots who commit suicide by train intentionally or not. Fuck them, its not my problem, and not the train's problem either. If you are that retarded, consider it retroactive darwinism, or just getting what you deserve. Pointing and laughing is about all they will get
