Comet ISON

I had been looking forward to seeing this thing in the next couple weeks , and into the winter. However... memo to any alien or conspiracy types: best to not fly within 500,000 km of Sol and the gravity well there, plus the extreme temperatures... It looks very much like the comet was utterly disintegrated at perihelion.

There's no better way for a comet to go out.

Phooey! Was really looking forward to seeing it. On the plus side, comets are generally an ill omen, so this could be a good thing. Guess I'll just have to wait for Halley's Comet to come back in 2061 so I can see it again.
