Well to say it got mixed reviews would be putting it mildly. Capaldi might be ok as 13, but like the rest of them, it will take some growing to see how it goes. When combined with Day of the Doctor, it sets up some potentially interesting stuff, and MAYBE explains getting around the regeneration limits thingy. Which they had to address in-verse, since out-verse the simple explanation is that no one expected the series to go this long and have more than 12 actors portray the Doctor

Frankly, I would have liked to see more of John Hurt; he did a good job in the brief time we saw him in Day, and that brief time showed how good an actor he is.

Missed seeing "Day of the Doctor" yesterday. :( Not a fan of the 11th doctor- not because of Matt Smith, but because the writing seemed to fall off a cliff at the same time as he took over. Looking forward to how things go with Capaldi.

I agree that a John Hurt Dr. would have been very interesting.

Each Dr. brought something original and interesting to the character. I for one will sit back and enjoy the show and reserve any judgments for the future.

BTW.. anyone know how to drive a Tardis???
