Going on in Malmo, Sweden

It was supposed to be lining up as a Canada v USA final, but a funny thing happened on the way to the forum; Team USA got a spatha thru the brainpan this afternoon against the Russians, Losing 5-3 and are eliminated. No one saw that coming, especially with the Russians only going 3-0-2 in the round robin. Canada faced Switzerland today, defeating them 4-1.

Matchups for the semis are now:
Canada v Finland
Russia v Sweden

Should be a good pair of games; the Finns are always tough, they scored 4 unanswered goals today to come back and defeat the Czech Republic 5-3. Russia, playing like they dont care look like a lot of fun to watch, and the Swedes, unblemished as yet in the tournament and acting like their shit dont stink, might just be due for ass-kicking

next games go Saturday.

I'd prefer a Canada v Russia final.... the Swedes always seem to be able to beat us in as annoying a manner as possible...

Bob Mackenzie actually did a bit on that, showing how the dickhead swedish prick used dirty tricks and taunting to get one of our guys to retaliate and take a penalty. Promptly congratulated by his equally dickhead coach. I would pay real money to have Sutter beat his face in in that scene...
