I'm a big fan of the original series, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up considering how bad the 1998 Tri-Star version was. Actually, I thought the last Toho entry, Final Wars was awful, too. Godzilla is probably my second favorite movie series, with James Bond being number 1.

Yeah - Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973)

Godzilla vs Megalon American Trailer

This one ranks high for me just because we snuck in to see it at the Plaza Theater and it was packed with kids one summer afternoon. A huge popcorn hurling fanatic cheering section went up for Godzilla and "Jet" the Robot as they kicked Megalon's ass. I was twelve or thirteen when it was released in the US. Great childhood memory. :mrgreen:

How can you pick a favorite? They're all Godzilla!

I do love how Godzilla's eyes look in the rubber suit days... there's a definite gleam of "Oh, boy, I get to fuck something up!"

I am way more excited about this than I am admitting to myself, especially given Hollywood's unparalleled ability to ruin a perfectly good story.
