That is news to me... I remember nervously buying the odd copy of Splosh! off the 'top shelf' in a newsagents in Brighton, circa 2000 (I think) - just before it was discontinued. It was a pioneering publication, along with Footsy magazine (around the same era, late 1990s - also long since discontinued). There was a late-night TV show in the UK that had Bill Shipton on as a guest, promoting WAM, about 12-15 years ago... I definitely recall seeing that.
