Uh oh! - are you 49 now, Nessie? One more to go until the big 5-0. Don't worry - I'm 54 and it meant absolutely nothing to me on my 50th - just another day. Keep on going.

That's because the cakes are all made of bentonite clay. The frosting, though, is white kaolin sand. And instead of candles, we surround the cake with torches.

Yep, 49, and I sure feel as if I can't possibly be that old. I'm actually in better physical shape than I was at 39, due to quitting drinking totally, completely, entirely and absolutely and losing some weight. With the aid of all-natural mudpits instead of a gymnasium, I have pretty good endurance these days.

But I have to move to a darker shade of L'Oreal soon. I noticed that what with all the grays sprouting, Ultimate Natural Blonde is starting to too much like platinum. Next time, instead of Ultimate, I better get a bottle of Golden.
