There's Something New In the AirRemember when camera gadgets were maybe remote triggers and lashing things to trees or tripods?
Yeah
Now, wait a couple years - or less - and you get stuff like this
I expect a surge in UFO sightings from the tinfoil hat people
AND some very cool shots

Yea, I saw that at B&H when I checked the latest GoPro pricing.
But don't expect me to jump into one of those soon. We have a lot more interesting things to do first.
Having said that though, I would imagine that this thing has at least one gyro - and can 'maintain' hover automatically.

They at least haven't priced themselves out of existence, which is smart. It's not tops on the list of things to get, but it is at least a cool gadget. You can easily come up with stuff it could be used for

Well, the guys that have been making a small mint flying R/C Helicopters and tethering balloons for real estate photo and video purposes won't be happy about this.

I think the GOOD ones will add this as a tool to their arsenal. Unlike an R/C helicopter, this might actually be optimized specifically for aerial photography, which will make it less likely to "jitter" without modification. And yet much more controllable than a tethered balloon. And some people would still prefer to hire someone rather than learn to take good aerial photos themselves.

Cabela's sells a kit to turn two Ruger 10-22 rifles into a twin-barrel AA gun. Classified as semi-automatic, so no special BATFE permit needed. It would of course be illegal to motorize the weapon, and adding two more barrels would just be overkill.
