Mixing quicksand into internet memes, new and old...there's certainly avenues waiting to be explored here
Personally, I like some silliness, corny wordplay and humor (be it gallows humor, saucy and bawdy, or otherwise) mixed in with my pretty and beautiful women in various states of undress sinking into bottomless quicksand. There's just something to the combination that revs my engine. Maybe it allows me a sense of distancing myself from the idea of watching women in deadly peril? Perhaps it's the juxtaposition between the two that makes it all the more interesting? Maybe it's because, as jtkeller, an older member of the forum and still active Quicksand Artist, stated on his Bluesky account (and I am paraphrasing), "once you accept that your kink or fetish is ridiculous, you can really start having fun with it."
Or it could just be ol' Pete Boggs' influence sticking with me. His artwork was one of the first I encountered when I stumbled upon this community in other digital venues all those years ago.
