What models do you use?
how do you animate their tits?
How do you animate their faces?
how do you animate their bodies and gestures and all the above -
SIMULTANEOUSLY?
How do you make the quicksand act like soft peanut butter?
Can the quicksand be changed to yellow/white, grainy sand texture?
Is that A special scene or set piece?
Daz can render... What is Blender for? are the two supposed to be used together? which renders faster.
I tried to make a six second clip, the rendering of seven frames took 12 hours, 8 minutes and 39 seconds.
Is there a faster way to make these videos?
as it stands, I have no clue how long it could take to render a 30 second commercial! At 24 frames per second x 30 seconds X two hours a frame = 1540 hours? divide by 24 per day...
and I can't use my computer for anything else, I can't interrupt the process, save, and comeback later? it is ALL OR NOTING?
this... this, this ludicrous!

Re: New MOVIE!!!!! Watch where you step!
Okay, first of all, you should probably start a new thread for questions like this...
...that being said,
Over the years, I've collected a lot of models and props to use in my movies. For the girls, I mostly use the Victoria 4 model from DAZ. It's about 10 years old but still looks good and is the last version of the Victoria series fully compatible with Poser. The only problem is she costs money.
https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-complete
The latest version of Victoria is V8. https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-8 I can't use her because she is not really compatible with Poser, and I've got too much time and money invested in V4, but since you're starting with DAZ Studio, you don't have those problems.
If you want free stuff, try Renderosity. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/
Many models, but not all, have facial, breasts, and other morphs that you can use to change the model make her motions more life like. The models that come with the free version of DAZ Studio may not have them. That's how DAZ makes its money. They give away the software for free and then charge you for add ons to do various things.
No, you don't animate all parts of the body simultaneously. Pick a part of the body such as the arms or legs. Animate them and then go onto another part of the body, animate it. Keep going!
The quicksand effect is done with a piece of software called Real Flow. You can download the demo for free, but for now, I'd say concentrate on learning the basics first.
You can change the texture of the QS to anything you want.
Yes, DAZ can render and animate, but its very limited in what it can do. Blender is a more comprehensive software that lets you not only animate, but lets you build your own models as well. The problem is Blender is fairly complicated to use. You might want to focus just on DAZ for now until you pick up the basics.
You're not trying to render DAZ on a laptop, are you?
Sounds like you have a very slow computer compared to mine. I can render out a frame like you've shown in about a minute. My computer is a 4Ghz, 8 core system with 32 gig or RAM. I build it specifically to do this kind of work. The average laptop, heck, the average desktop most people have now a days is not really fast enough to do 3D animation. If you can't do anything else with your computer while you're rendering a frame, then I'd say your computer is way too slow. My computer slows down, but I can still do many other things.
When it comes to a single frame, yes. It's all or nothing. When I render out a scene, I do it at 30 frames a second and save the animation as a series of still frames, usually stored in TIFF format. If I do need to interrupt the process, I can pick up where I left off.
Good Luck.

Re: New MOVIE!!!!! Watch where you step!
Very Well,
I'll stop buggin' ya. you have been very helpful.
I used a google search and raided a lot of the free-stuff from the web.
I am raiding Deviant art over the next few (whoknows).
I will keep working at it.
Okay, render as still images...
then I can use photoshop to make an animated gif.
then I can use windows movie maker to make the video, add sound, and finishing touches...
This really is a lot of work! You must be a Quicksand-saint to be doing all this for free over the Decades.
Ahh well, I have just started: I expect too much. I thought it was easy.
... There is no reward for being beat - I won't let this thing beat me.
Short game wins now, Long game - wins forever.
I have to work through my flaws.
Now, really
Thank you.

Re: New MOVIE!!!!! Watch where you step!
Beautiful new movie test, Qsvgitguy! Again, I find myself jealous of your goopy 3D toys.
I just bought a few new ones myself for Poser 11 but nothing that animates as nicely as Realflow. I'll get there eventually.
Thanks for sharing it and raising the bar, yet again, on qs animations!
@noone: Keep experimenting with it, friend! The best way to learn DAZ3D/Poser, what have you, is just to keep fiddling with it and find out what does what and the different ways of achieving the look you want. Photoshop can help a lot with this as well when it comes to still images. Don't get discouraged. There are tutorials on Youtube that help too.
Qsvgitguy is right about the computer requirements for rendering. These programs are incredible resource hogs. They love lots of cores and lots of RAM. Literally, as much of both as you can afford. You basically need to build a beast if you want faster results. Do your homework on that before you just start sinking money on it, though. That was my mistake when I bought my old computer 10 years ago.
Congrats on your first render and don't give up!

Thanks a lot Six Guns! The good news is you can download the Real Flow demo for free! The demo will last for 30 days, then when it asks if you want to buy it, just renew the 30 day trail again, and again, and again!
The bad news is in order to use Real Flow and Poser together, you need another program such as Lightwave, 3DS Max, Maya, or Cinema 4D, and they are all expensive. Among the many reasons why I use Lightwave is that it is the least expensive of the major software out there. Every now and then, there's somebody over at the official Lightwave forum who wants to sell their copy of Lightwave, usually for just a few hundred dollars. That's still a lot of money, but I've had a blast using Poser and Lightwave together. You get all the ease of animation of human figures in Poser with all the very powerful and professional tools that Lightwave has to offer. Add to that all the potential of Real Flow, it's a WAM fan's dream!
Cheers!
