Her eyes become more and more expressive the deeper she sinks, especially ever since she sank past her shoulders in the mire, at which time things got REAL serious for her. Love Tiangtam's attention to detail, especially in the way he conveys so much emotion and information from Felicia's eyes.
I also like how the quicksand seems even more alive in this particular piece... it comes across as actively consuming its victim as she's drawn in further and further into its dark depths below. It seems that it's no longer a matter of how stuck Felicia is, but instead how much longer she has before she's sucked under... she's beyond trapped by this point... it's more like she's doomed as the surface ripples of the mud close in. Once again, how her hair spreads across the quicksand's surface is beautifully done.

Slow sinks are the best in my opinion, gives a better feel for the thickness of the bog, and the struggles of the sinker. Indeed they have, It seems that at shoulder deep she really realized that things were not going her way, and at each step since then the realization that she IS going nowhere but down starts to sink in more and more, pun intended. But I would think the surface of the quicksand touching the bottom of your nose would cause even the toughest and most stubborn person to react like that,... and Felicia is no exception, I can only imagine that all the warning bells must be going off in her head right now,... and I think that TT has really captured that beautifully in her expression. It really does impress me how he is able to convey so much, with so little of her left to work with.
Oh, indeed, it really does seem to have a life of its own here, the ripple on the surface like a pair of monstrous lips closing in around her, and when those lips close,... *slurp*,... down into the 'belly' of the bog she goes. Agreed, in previous pieces it was a matter of her being stuck, but still fighting, would she get out, would she sink deeper? But I think in this piece there is no doubt she IS going down,... slowly but surely the bog is going to suck her down and swallow her up, and she is powerless to do anything but watch it close in over her. As you say, this is more than stuck, this is doomed. And yes, the hair spread across the surface is very well done, and a nice accent to the piece.
