I played Tomb Raider 3 exactly once and never got past the first stage. Looks like Lara Croft won't either.

Nice recreation of Tomb Raider III's quicksand obstacle in drawn form! I mean, those pits are one reason why I revisit playthroughs of those areas.

Been a while since I've seen any Lara Croft quicksand stuff. It's such a match made in heaven, and as you say it even featured in one of the games.
I remember later in TR3 I got killed in the first area of the Nevada/Area 51 chapter. Was frustrated trying to find the route i needed to go, was running and jumping around, and jumped directly into the centre of a pool of desert quicksand. Took me totally by surprise as there hadn't been any sinky stuff since the jungle at the beginning.
