Floating

Yes, there's no doubt she's floating. She's not going down any more. She obviously wont drown. However, she wont go in any other direction, too. She got hopelessly stuck in a deep pit of thick clay that, as she was told, should be so good for her skin.

Silly girl, she was so credulous! Just she was told about the secluded mud pit in the jungle that the local girls use to keep their skin so famously smooth and velvet, she was ready to go there and try it! How could she make so stupid decision? Being alone, the very first time at that island, and to go away from the crowds of tourists to unknown place?

The place wasn't far. But there was nobody around, as it was supposed to be. The clay was dark grey, contrasting with the brown soil surrounding it. She took that as evidence for its special properties. Could be, but why she believed that the clay was really healing and not harmful? The only one person told her about the mud pit. The only one! She didn't ask anyone else.

As she stepped in the mud pit she discovered that it was just knee-deep. She made three or four steps. The bottom was soft, slightly vibrating under her feet as she kept walking. Then the bottom suddenly gave way and she plunged in the deep mire. Her downward movement was so fast that she couldn't do anything. She was sure she was doomed to disappear forever in the depth of the pit. Paralyzed by terror, she couldn't make a slightest movement, she couldn't scream, she couldn't even breathe. Then she stopped sinking. Thus she learned the truth about clay pits. She can float in them.

Now, as she calmed down, she is able to think about her situation. She can't get out on her own, she needs help. Will she get help or not? Who may be her rescuers? What reward they may demand? How soon they may appear? Wouldn't she die of starvation before anybody find her? No answers. She doesn't know what happened. Did she do something wrong? Was it a horrible accident with the mud pit itself? Could be, it became dangerous recently? Or just today? Could be, she found the wrong mud pit. The description of the way to the pit was not very clear. Could be, she's at the wrong place and nobody is going to find her here. And finally, could be, she was brutally kidded. Could be, that flat-chested blonde who told her about the mud pit was just very jealous and very, very, extremely evil.

Poor credulous girl, so helpless, so shy, so upset... Pity her!

A truly inspirational triumph :D

If this was back on DS, I would be kudo-ing you for days.

The image and the story are just perfect.
Well done, and thank you for sharing :) :) :)
This certainly seems to be packed full of jam... and quicksand. Oh dear.

OH MY! Billie, this is magnificent! Then image by itself is wonderful, and the way you did the colors brings out this dreamy look. Love how you've added the mud up along her breasts and biceps to show that she'd struggle, sink to that level, then float back up. She does look quite stuck and trapped. And, the story that you wrote for this piece was very nicely done. Both compliment each other beautifully. Thanks for sharing!

I'll give you two words to start: IM-PRESSIVE!!

The look of exhaustion and frustration on her face was excellent. It's as if she doesn't know whether to be afraid or angry, and , if she feels angry, who she should be angry with.

Very nice, Billie. Very, very well done! :D

Looks great. The shading on her face is excellent, especially those lips.

Good link between an inviting image and a plausible story line. Give us another!
