Quicksand Fans

OMG a quicksand commission from Dethmetal that isn't Black Cat!!!

I figured it might be time for a change of pace, and it comes in the form of this absolutely incredible image by the extremely talented Hefess.

The lovely Jessica Rabbit, in her Forest Ranger outfit, seems to have stumbled into a particularly hungry patch of quicksand out in the woods. Really though, who can blame the quicksand for wanting to gobble her up, with as good as she looks?

I must say I am nothing but pleased with how this turned out, I think Jessica looks gorgeous, as does the quicksand.

Heh, you are welcome, though I'm not the first to find them.

The artist did a wonderful job on this piece. Love that the series was started with Jessica walking into the quicksand and getting her feet stuck in the mire. The footprints trailing behind her in the various frames are wonderful touches to depict her progress to the point where she gets stuck. And, as thick and gooey as the quicksand looks, one can imagine those last few arduous steps she took before the mud's suction and tenacity overwhelmed and frustrated the impressive power of her strong, sexy legs as she became stuck fast and slowly bogged down.

Her facial expressions in the second and third frames really bring out the drama of her sink. The camera angle and pose of her stuck butt-deep in the second frame is quite nice, and love that she's mired breast-deep with her arms stuck and pinned by her sides in the third... such a classic Pete Boggs depth of a sexy woman hopelessly stuck in the mud. I also like that the artist drew the quicksand slowly filling her footprints in each frame.

I couldn't agree more, Hefess really did a great job with this sequence. I had initially thought to only do the last three frames, but with legs like those I just had to reconsider and request a stepping in panel to start things off, and I am very glad I did. You really get a sense of the thick stickiness of the quicksand, even before she gets truly stuck in it. From the look of things I would agree that those last couple steps must not have been easy, which says a lot about those lovely legs of hers, pulling against the thick gluey grip of the quicksand.

I love the facial expressions, and the little shock emphasis mark in the second panel, it was unexpected, but very fitting I thought. I can't resist a good butt-deep shot like that, and chest deep, with arms trapped at her sides, is practically mandatory for a Pete Boggs fan, and I think Hefess did great on both. I especially like how her shoulders both seem to me raised in the third panel, clearly she is still trying to pull her arms free, but they are very firmly STUCK.

Yes! I was wondering who would be the first to notice that, I figured it would likely be you I love the footprints, I had requested them behind her in the muck, but I hadn't expected them to be slowly vanishing like that, that was all Hefess, and I think it is a Great touch. Another thing I love about the footprints is that if you count them in the third and fourth frames, the step she is taking in the first frame isn't the one that gets her stuck, I just find that the be a very interesting detail, and one that I think heightens the sense of anticipation.
