Looks like Don Corneo tied Tifa up, and slowly lowered her into sticky tar. She struggles, earning some of the ties loose, but will she escape this tar pit?

Think tar sands; it's not super heated like regular tar, but it's stickier than regular quicksand.

Perhaps more like soft chewing gum that has been sitting in the sun too long.
