Quicksand Fans

She managed to slip away from camp. At first she was curious why the other captive shook her head so in clear objection, but concentrated on making haste to get as far away as possible.
The soft forest floor made her hopping an exhausting task. She had no idea how much time had passed or the distance she managed to make. Always checking over her shoulder to see if her captors would be on her trail.
She took a short moment to catch her breath, the rope at her throat adding to her labour. With no more time to waste she made a further leap through the grass, only to see the dark mud before her churn and wobble. As she descended she tried to scream; in terror and in hopes someone would hear her, as it would be only seconds before the black ground she was aimed for would completely swallow her whole.

You are not actually showing her descent at all, but this definitely gets my imagination going. Great work!

Where she ended up.
It wont last long, she tries to make as much noise as possible so her captors might hear her. She feels the suction on her whole body the moment she enters the black mud. Her face only remains above the surface for mere seconds, she is swallowed so swiftly she does not manage to take a breath.
Did her captors hear her?
