CYOA: A Lake Without a Name - Part 08

Postby Aiko » Thu Jul 25, 2013 1:57 am

You'd think there must be plenty of branches in a forest. And there actually are, but the problem is they all seem to be firmly attached to their respective tree. Except maybe those of the toppled over birch you spot a little ways up the slight slope. You quickly step out of the shallow muck and run towards the fallen tree. Running through a forest with bare feet is a somewhat painful experience, but you grit your teeth and going is fast as you can anyway. It's not that far.

The birch is about 25 feet tall. You could easily snap one of it's smaller branches, but you are not sure whether they would be long enough to rescue the girl. You glance back for a second and see her neck-deep in the mire, still remaining calm despite the very real fear of drowning in the yielding morass. You could try another bigger branch, though that might be a bit harder to separate from the trunk. Or you could attempt to drag entire tree to the bog. It does not look all that heavy.
