Halloween Quicksand Story Contest: Voting Poll
The voting for the winner of the Halloween Quicksand Story Contest will take place on this thread where we will create a poll listing all the submissions received before midnight (your time), October 31st. Quicksand Fans are invited to cast their vote for their favorite story and polling should last about a week to ten days (depending on the number of submissions) with results announced shortly thereafter. If you have any question regarding the vote or the submissions feel free to post them here.

Re: Halloween Quicksand Story Contest
How about expanding on the title of this thread with "Voting Thread" or "Poll" or "Voting Poll" or "Vote Here" or something similar after the title to make it stand out more? Or, is that pretty much taken care of when the poll is actually added to the thread itself?

I would like to do a Halloween Quicksand story.
Might be busy, but I will see what I can do.
If I finish my story sometime around this weekend, should I post it to this thread with an attachment? Or should I maybe post it on the stories with the letters "Halloween Quicksand story contest."
Also a good detail of the requirements, like how many halloween references should we include to qualify for the contest and could we add more things to the quicksand and how long should the story be and can we have what ever age content we like like can it be an adult story or can it also be a story suitable for kids too?
Something like that will let me know of what to put in before I start.
You should indicate that you would like your story to be in the Halloween Quicksand Story Contest but posting it in the Stories section yourself will no doubt get you more readers and potentially more votes at that time. As for Halloween references, that would be a good idea since Guideline #1 indicates the story must occur on Halloween.
As for ADULT CONTENT I am probably going to be of the same mind as the moderators of the site when I say that ONLY ADULT CONTENT and SCENES DEALING WITH ADULTS will be tolerated T-Bone. The rules for Quicksand Fans are not cast aside for any reason, Halloween Contest or otherwise, so CASE CLOSED. Not that I care, but why would you write a children's story for a fetish site read by only adults, Halloween or no? It probably also bears repeating in your case that material by other authors can only be used with permission of said authors. Refer to the rules in the Halloween Quicksand Story Contest post in General Discussion regarding the quality of the quicksand itself, otherwise, good luck!

To piggyback off a point made by stevensenechal, everyone should already understand that a story written and submitted for this Halloween Quicksand Story Contest by the author/writer cannot be posted at other web sites, forums, groups, etc., nor can the story be used for personal gain, public exhibition, etc., without the permission of the author/writer.

WHAT??? There was a Hallowe'en Quicksand Story Contest on this site?
Damn, I missed it.
Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn (yes yes, they've got the point - ed) etc.
So - no epic verse from me this time round.
Mind you, I've been suffering horribly from writers' block over the last few months.

The contest has been open for less than a week and a short story by the always articulate and thoughtful Mr. Lomax would be enjoyed by many of the Fans. Please feel free to enter a short story as winning the contest should be secondary to sharing with the many here who enjoy your posts and 'quirks'.... Oh, here's something to help anyone suffering with writer's block....

Re: Halloween Quicksand Story Contest: Voting Poll
TBoneTony , I'd like to clarify that I don't think the story has to be an "adults only" story in the sense that it must have explicit sexual content or murder or something like that. It's just that the CHARACTERS must be adults. Because if the characters are children then even if the story is an "innocent" story without any adult content, it would still be a bit strange because since this is a forum for people with a sexual fetish about quicksand and stuff like that. As long as the characters are adults I imagine you can write anything you like - it could be a very dark and violent or sexual story that is obviously only suitable for adults, or it could be a more straightforward dramatic quicksand scene that would be suitable for all ages.
(Though I think a Halloween story should be dark and sinister to some degree, so I'd expect something suitable for teens upwards at least rather than something you might see in a children's story.)
Anyway, this is just my interpretation of the rules - of both the forum and the competition. The important thing is that characters have got to be adults, apart from that anything goes I guess.
Also, personally I'm fine with stories featuring 16 and 17 year olds since here in the UK 16 is the age of consent. Especially 17 year olds, most of the people I know had sexy by the time they were 17. There was a joke in the cartoon South Park where the kids asked when was the right age to have sex, and Chef said 17, and a teacher said "well it depends on when YOU fell that you are ready it is different for everyone..." and Chef said "Nah when you're 17, you're ready!" But, it is different if in some countries and some states of America - in some states 16 and 17 year olds can have sex but they can't have sex with anyone over 18, the 18-year-old can be prosecuted for statutory rape if they have sex with someone under 18. This leads to a situation known as "jail bait" where an attractive 16 or 17 year old might like to have sex with a 20 year old but the 20 year old must not or risk going to jail.
Also, I think in pretty much all countries, including the UK, you have to be over 18 to be in a pornographic film, and to be safe many people would rather that stories featured only over 18-year-olds, as if the characters in an "adult" story were actors in an adult film. And since this a forum for adults that find quicksand exciting, I guess your characters must be over 18 regardless of what they are doing. I can't remember were the characters in Tight and Squishy Hugs over 18? If so then it is fine, even if the situation was suitable for kids. I think... I'm not running this Halloween competition.
