I haven't been keeping up with this place much of late, for various reasons. I see there's a Halloween story contest going on, but it's a little late for me to write one this year.

Still, I figured now's a good time to post last year's Halloween story here, for those who haven't read it before.

This is NOT an entry for the competition! It's from last year. Technically it won, too, though you wouldn't have known it by the responses it got back then.

It's set on Halloween night. Enjoy.

I remember being impressed the first time, and it still impressive when read again. Appropriately spooky and sinister for halloween!
