This would have been better posted in requests, unless you provided a real life experience of your own and then asked others what their experience was, albiet that would fit in general discussion as well...

Absolute true story. When I was 18, my long time, on and off girlfriend and I went canoeing. I was in umbros, an a t-shirt shirt, and she had on a one piece bathing suit, with just pair of jean shorts on over that. When we found a place to "dock" and take a brake, we both put our paddles in the water to see how deep it was. Our paddles hit ground no more than half a foot in the water. She had been sort of sun bathing in the canoe, laying on her back with her jean shorts unzipped and hanging open, and that is how she entered the water. The moment she jumped off the canoe, she went in all the way up to her thighs. I still remember her genuine suprise, and yelling "I JUST SANK LIKE FIFTY FEET!" What I should have done was rush over and grab her, but I was just transfixed watching the situation. There was a deep, thick layer of silt under the water, and it was like real quicksand. She was really struggling, bucking her hips back and forth. She became aware of her jean shorts hanging open, and quickly buttoned them, but didn't zip the fly. I still remember the sloshy sounds of her struggling. She did manage to get back in the canoe on her own. After that we swam around, and when I got close to the bank and went to walk, I would go knee deep in the slimy silt. I will never forget that experience, and glad I got a chance to share it.
