Amy backed up, keeping a defensive stance as her hands sparked with bright, purple magic energy. She was dressed in form-fitting emerald armor that covered her from the neck down. Her long black hair was wild and all over the place, partially covering her red eyes and the rest of her face.
Next to her stood her boyfriend, Drake. He was donned in bulky, black metal armor and a matching helmet covering his face. He was brandishing a broadsword with a black hilt and a red blade.
The two were stood in front of a small horde of monsters. The things were a dark shade of purple, they had the top half of muscular men and their bottom halves were that of giant snakes. Each man/snake thing wielded short, sharp daggers. Their eyes were completely red and flared with anger for their enemies.
"Looks like we're just a bit outnumbered," Amy said, continuing to back up as the monsters advanced.
"Yeah, only ten on two," Drake said, preparing for a strike on one of the creatures.
One of the creatures suddenly made a move. It lunged itself onto Drake's body, letting out an animalistic shriek. It pinned him to the ground with one, powerful arm, raising the dagger with the other. It was about to plunge the small blade into his chest when it was suddenly pushed off, collapsing next to him the ground and convulsing as Amy's purple magic shooting through its body. The creature eventually stopped moving as it slowly faded away into nothing.
"Nine on two, Amy said, nonchalantly.
She helped her boyfriend up and they both reclaimed their defensive positions as the horde slowly closed in on them. Three of them managed to push themselves in between Amy and Drake, managing to separate them. The other six circled around Drake.
Drake did his best to fend off the vicious creatures, managing to take two of them out before they overpowered him.
"Drake!" Amy cried as Drake was forced to one knee from fatigue and pain.
The creatures took turns driving their blades into his armor. Each jab resulted in a small grunt from the big man. Soon enough, they backed off as he fell forward as he collapsed. with the last of his strength, he looked up at Amy, who had worry on her face as she watched on from behind the wall of snake creatures.
"Sorry, babe..." Drake grunted as his body slowly vanished into the wind...
"Fuck..." Amy sighed. She turned to face the situation at hand. Seven of the creatures remained versus just her now.
Amy charged up her power as she summoned a ball of purple energy in each hand and launched them at two of the creatures. One of them dodged it but the other wasn't so quick. It was struck directly in the chest, causing it to spasm uncontrollably before fading away.
"Thanks for leaving me on my own, dude..." Amy muttered under her breath.
She turned around to face the remaining horde. The six remaining creatures stood confidently in a circle around Amy. In her peripheral vision, she caught glimpse of a creature on either side of her preparing to throw their daggers at the mage.
Amy began preparing herself. She kept swapping glances between the two monsters about to attack. As soon as she saw them let go of their blades, sending them hurdling at the woman, Amy quickly leaped into the air, spiraling into the air, planting both feet onto the ground, now outside of the circle of monsters.
Meanwhile, the two blades that had been launched at her glided by each other and planted themselves deep into the chests of the purple snake things, causing them to fall over and fade away.
"Four left!" Amy shouted as she took off running into the forest. The remaining creatures taking off close behind her.
As she ran, Amy Began removing pieces of her armor and tossing them behind her as she ran. It was one of her weaker sets, so she wasn't too upset to lose it. Anything to give her a little more speed in her chase. Once she had stripped the last piece of armor away, she was only left wearing a forest green two-piece bikini.
Amy summoned two more balls of energy in her hands and blindly launched them over her shoulders as she sprinted ever further. However, none of the shots landed. Due to the erratic nature of her offense, none of the shots landed.
After creating a bit of distance between her and the monsters, Amy quickly left her feet, clasping her hands onto a low-hanging tree branch. She used the momentum to swing up to a branch hanging slightly higher up the tree. Amy planted her feet on the branch are carefully pulled herself up.
She looked down at the creatures, who had just reached her tree. They looked up at her haplessly. They seemed incredibly strong but without legs to help them, they would be unable to climb very easily.
So, Amy took this time to mockingly salute her enemies before taking off, leaping from tree to tree, branch to branch away from the monsters. They began to chase her, keeping directly underneath her. Knowing she couldn't outrun them, she began jumping to higher branches, using the branches and leaves as camouflage.
After getting high enough, Amy slowed the pace of her jumping. She took her time in between leaps while looking down at her pursuers, who had not slowed at all. She had escaped from their sight for the time being.
Amy sighed. Partially from relief and partially from pure exhaustion. She sat down on the branch she was currently on as she watched the four remaining monsters continue through the forest, still thinking they were pursuing the mage.
Amy took the time to relax. She moved her long, black hair back into place, out of her face. All the magic she used resulted in low mana, causing her to need rest before being able to use her magic again. Leaning back against the trunk of the tree, Amy kicked back to rest, a cocky smile on her face.
"Those things are so strong... But damn are they stupid," Amy said, laughing to herself.
Once she was ready to go, Amy carefully began to begin her descent. She jumped to a lower branch, slowly inching closer to the ground.
When she got low enough, Amy jumped down from the last branch onto the ground. To her surprise, the landing was softer than she expected. Almost as if the ground shifted underneath her to absorb some of the shock from her fall.
Wait... shifting ground?
"Oh shit!" Amy yelled as she realized the ground beneath her gave way and accepted her legs up to her knees.
Her long, toned legs were slowly disappearing into the now muddy ground. Amy pulled on her legs with all her might, trying to free herself. She pulled with her whole body, making her hair fly in all directions.
"Let me out!" Amy cried, clearly very frustrated.
Sinking to her upper thighs, just inches from her bikini bottoms, Amy knew she had to escape before she was too deep.
Amy closed her eyes and tried focusing. She controlled her breathing and let her mind clear. She could feel the magic energy beginning to flow through her body once again. She cycled through the mental list of spells she had memorized. Offensive spells, defensive spells, she couldn't think of one that could get her out of her current situation.
Finally she came across one she could use. An advanced levitation spell that, while using up almost all of her energy, could get her out of the sucking mud holding her. She initiated the spell and began feeling the energy leaving her body. A small price to pay in order to save her life. She felt herself begin to lift out of the mud ever so slowly...
Before unexplainably dropping right back down. The spell didn't work yet all of her energy had been sapped. Amy was at a loss... Unless...
"Dammit... This pit is enchanted. I should have known!" Amy scolded herself. She settled back in up to her thighs, almost out of ideas. Magic wasn't going to be of any help and nothing she could grab would hold her weight long enough. But she knew she couldn't give up.
Suddenly, Amy let out a sharp gasp. The mud had climbed up to her groin, sending near-unbearable sensations surging through her body. These feelings clouded Amy's mind, made it difficult to focus on finding a way out.
"Ugh... This must have some spell on it to force sensory overload on the victim... I-its going to be impossible to escape..." Amy gasped, sinking to her waist. Every inch she sank, the sensations in Amy's body were kicked up a notch.
The mud Amy was in was no normal pit. It was a pit of quicksand that was enchanted with a dangerous spell that made the victim's senses go all out of whack. The deeper they go, the crazier they become. Soon after falling in, the victim is too far out of their wits to possibly escape.
"H-help me! Someone!" Amy yelled. She hated feeling so powerless but she knew there was no other way out.
Amy continued to call for help as the mud climbed her stomach. She sank to her chest. Once she got that deep, the pulsing vibes in her body intensified tenfold. Her sight began to get crowded by blurry, black spots similar to what one would see after staring at the sun too long.
"P-p-please! I-I'm sinking!" Amy cried. She waved her arms high over head, trying to attract anyone to save her. At this point, she didn't care if those monsters came back to finish her off. Anything was a more dignified death than basically orgasming to death under a pit of mud.
But yet no one came. Amy sank down to her shoulders, her entire body shaking from the pressure and pleasure holding her down. Eventually she became too weak to keep up. She slumped over to the side, her head coming to a rest on her right shoulder. She slowly lowered her arms to the surface, blankly staring at them as they slowly sank under.
Soon enough her shoulders were pulled under. Amy's face was now an inch from the mud. Her survival instincts were screaming at her to lift her head up, to stay as far away from the danger as possible, but she just couldn't do it. She was just too weak to lift her head...
"H-help..." was all she could squeak as her head slowly slid underneath the surface...
The world was now in pure darkness as Amy felt her lifeforce slowly being sapped from her... After just a few short moments, she felt her consciousness finally give out...
----
"God dammit!" Amy yelled, throwing her headset down onto her desk. Meanwhile Drake sat in a gaming chair next to her, laughing hysterically at his girlfriend's misfortunate gaming moment.
"I can't believe it. You outsmart some of the strongest enemies in the game and you end up dying to quicksand. Again!" Drake said in between laughs.
Amy crossed her arms and slumped back in her own gaming chair.
"At least I didn't die to them..." she mumbled under her breath.
"Yeah, but I was fighting most of them at once. I was outnumbered but I still got some of them. You managed to escape them and still die." Drake retorted, still chuckling.
"Shut up!" Amy yelled, tossing a plushie from her desk at him.
Drake continued to laugh as he caught the plushie, a crochet Metroid. He set it down on his own desk, got up, and walked across the room to his girlfriend, who was still sulking.
He put his arms around Amy and lifted her up out of her chair. Drake gave her a tight hug, trying to make her feel better. However he could still feel her arms crossed and could sense she was still frustrated.
"All right, this is serious. It calls for drastic measures," Drake said, suddenly clasping one hand onto Amy's butt.
Amy gasped slightly and broke her pout to look up at her boyfriend, a small smirk crossing her face, a devious look in her eyes.
"Would that make you feel better?" Drake asked, matching his girlfriend's smirk.
"I think it might help..."

Re: Outnumbered
VR quicksand, huh?
Nice concept, but I don’t care for VR. Closest I’ll get to that is Second Life.

Not quite VR. I envisioned this as being a WoW type MMORPG. I can see the confusion, just wanted to clear that up.

Re: Outnumbered
I must have missed this story when it was first posted. Very enjoyable, I'm always down for some video game QS. I also appreciate how you worked a fantasy element in it. That's always a nice way to spice things up and introduce new elements to the QS. Thank you for sharing.
