okay,
I have made truely terrible fakes in the past, but the one thing about mistakes is that you learn from them.
so, constructive criticism:
1. STOP WITH THE RAZOR SHARP STRAIGHT EDGES- human beings have curves, follow the curves when making a manip as best you can.
2. if one pic is scale 90:3, and the next is 18:1... it's not gonna work well. using a transform to resize one image to fit the other,
means one part of the outcome is clear, the other part is not.
3. learn to blend at edges on a very small scale, say using a tool only 3 pixels brush size. this is how some add 'splashed' on mud droplets or "sort of pushed up an inch or two"...
4. I have no clue how to do shadows and reflections. since that takes practice. I have some homework to do. there are other tools to learn about aswell: skew and stretch, for instance.
5. try to use a tablet if you can, makes it easier to do fine detail work and to use small strokes. if you try to make one big line and make a mistake, all that work can be lost. if you make short lines, and make a mistake undoing the action doesn't put you back as far.
6. tweak familiar backgrounds; clip, copy, paste, canvas resize and reverse the image, but becareful that you aren't making obvious "ARTIFACTS" with your manipulations.
such as obvious smear/blur, pixelization, and pasted 'floaties' from not using enough background eraser.
7. learn how to "select", "mask", and to build "layers", this is homework for me too.
crud, wifey is coming.
bye all. I hope this helps.
