That's exactly what I was thinking... Like I said, an innocent name like "Terrain Survey at Stapleton Shore" or some such nonsense... Man-eater and such terms may be on a watch list at YouTube.

That's exactly what I was thinking... Like I said, an innocent name like "Terrain Survey at Stapleton Shore" or some such nonsense... Man-eater and such terms may be on a watch list at YouTube.

I am thinking about possibly removing descriptions, and perhaps titles, to make them harder to search for. If I remove titles, then when people download the files, they would have a filename ".flv", which would have to be renamed to something more meaningful.

In regards to my most recent adventure, stay tuned in General Discussion for my report, and in this thread for the videos. I have to slice a 25-minute, 2.88 gigabyte .mts file into two to fit within YouTube's 15-minute limit, upload the two pieces to YouTube and then slice and dice the second part further to separate the rest of the sink (the sink will have to be a 2-parter) from the underbog part, and the escape part. I would edit it all in iMovie, but last time I tried it, the resulting videos that looked fine when played on my computer, looked not so fine when I uploaded to YouTube. The darker parts would eventually break up into squares, some which disappear, and then reappear. So, I found using YouTube's editor resulted in the best quality. I have yet to pick out the place in the video where to split it for upload, but it should be soon.

I'm sure it was your title that got you, not someone from here snitching to YouTube. And probably not YouTube itself but do gooders that haunt the place.

That said, as you've already realized, things will tend to stay longer on YouTube if you take certain precautions. First, a nonsensical title that is unlikely to accidently come up on a search for something else. Next, no description at all to keep the search engines from indexing those words. And most importantly, no tag words at all or something nonsensical like your title.

Once you create a video like this, the only effective way to find it will be if you provide the URL to it. So if you only post it here, it should stay up a long time. Thats how the pros use YouTube.

Of course, if it gets flagged in a day, then that would be the time to consider that someone from here might be doing the flagging.

It won't be long before I finally post links to my final set of videos of the season here. I have parts 1, 3 and 4 ready, but unfortunately, due to certain limitations of YouTube's own video editor, I was forced to edit part 2 using iMovie, which has given me problems with trying to make quality exports in the past (hopefully this newer iMovie '11 will be better than the previous one I used). So, it is now a matter of experimentation with exporting it using different settings to try getting the quality to match the other parts edited on YouTube. Once the set of videos is completely ready, I think you will enjoy it.

This upcoming set of videos will have you "living" for around 25 minutes total each time you watch the set. I found that the picture quality of some short test files edited with iMovie and uploaded to YouTube was free of the subtle but noticeable pixelation of dark areas I had before (this time I used very high data rates), but the color seemed a bit faded. I will have to experiment with the color adjustments to make it match the ones directly edited on YouTube.

By the way, who are the 2 young ladies with you in your picture? Are they aware of your quicksand "activities"?

And, I am still working on color-enhanced versions of my latest videos, since the colors of the originals were so washed out.
