Quicksand Fans

I took my girlfriend on a hike and told her to "step right there". She enjoyed the experience and agreed to go in again but only if the camera was on. She figured if we were going to do this we might as well have a visual record. Lucky me! Here is a snippet for you. The rest is for our eyes only.

Thanks for the nice feedback, folks. My beautiful and adventurous mud mermaid was concerned about the reaction we'd get. That mud is sticky but with some effort is deep enough to have a very satisfying vertical sink. We're going to try to go back there again soon and I'm hoping it will be wetter and looser. This time I'm bringing a tripod and better camera!

We couldn't get back in there in '14 but managed to sneak in a trip this summer. Check out our 2015 Hike post to see this year's fun. Weather is too cool in this part of the country already for another visit this year.
