Wow, that is one seriously deep bog you've found.

Re: Deep Mud
Whoahhh! Definitely deep, and you know it well too, since you are confident enough to make a leap like that.
Same mudpit?
I see the bicycle in the background!

Re: Deep Mud
The way you quickly disappear beneath the surface makes me think that the mud must be very watery underneath, and thicker on top! Very treacherous, or should I say, FUN and EXCITING!!!!
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

the mud in this video is from the top to the bottom of the pit nearly the same consistency.
when i go there after winter it is like you said, a surface where you can nearly walk on, and very watery underneath.
but after some dives into this it is compleatly mixed

Re: Deep Mud
That is an awesome pit! Reminds me of the one I have "cultivated" over the last few years. Not as deep... mine is up to the shoulders... but decent enough to wallow in quite nicely.

Re: Deep Mud
South of Kamloops, BC, I know of a shallow pond with liquid mud which, when exposed, has the consistency of milkshake (and a temperature to match, even in summer ) well over my head (I think it starts to get thicker around 12 feet down). When I jump in, I land in perhaps just over my ears briefly before floating at neck to chin depth. But, as I go down, if I was to pull myself down with my arms or just crouch, I could then disappear under just like in the video. It is one of the few places loose enough for me to easily pull myself down deep enough so that when I reach straight up with my hands, I can't touch the surface, before then climbing back up to the surface, on a lungful of air.
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

Re: Deep Mud
Hi, This is one of the best vids I've seen, how deep did you go down.
I'm in the UK and got a similar mud pit on the tidal marshes
My e-mail is: freedivinguk@yahoo.com Hope to hear. Mick.
