When I jump in, I land in perhaps just over my ears briefly before floating at neck to chin depth. But, as I go down, if I was to pull myself down with my arms or just crouch, I could then disappear under just like in the video. It is one of the few places loose enough for me to easily pull myself down deep enough so that when I reach straight up with my hands, I can't touch the surface, before then climbing back up to the surface, on a lungful of air.
Boggyman! You're a Rembrandt! I usually wear cycling clothing of different varieties to compensate for the temperature extremes. The clothing is expensive but, since I am a cyclist, muddy-me gets all the hand-me-downs. Cycling clothing can have some of the best insulating properties and still be thin enough to be aware of every nuance the sand is giving back to me. Besides, I would rather look like a lycra-clad superhero if someone spots me instead of being caught in my granny's hand-knit purple legwarmers....
