After making the above post, I successfully updated the reply to the Tarzan thread. But, when I updated my above post with that statement and tried to submit it, I wound up getting the same message again! So, it IS happening to me even during my regular posting hours! And, I only logged in once this evening (although I logged in twice after midnight last night). When I click on the spamhaus link, it is the search term (ip address) that is invalid, but I think it first quickly flashes something about being verified (blink and I miss it). Unlike GoDaddy, which blocks all access temporarily, Spamhaus seems to only block submissions.

Yep, that's what I'm getting, I didn't make that clear in my original post. If you ignore the link in the message and go to Spamhaus directly, it'll tell you there are no issues when you test your I/P.

Thank you for the screen shot. I almost started wasting my time with the firewall (although that still might come into play).
I will see if our Technical Admin can make any sense of this.

Re: Strange message about IP being blocked
Just adding my own recent experiences with this to the list of incidents.
Same message: IP blocked because of being blacklisted - whatever the eff that means...
Just started happening to me this morning - came back a little later and got my post up, only to have it repeat with the next attempt.

It's still being looked at.
The completely random nature of the issue is making troubleshooting difficult.

Re: Strange message about IP being blocked
Not sure I'd call it random, I'm getting it on 30-50 percent of my post attempts. It always occurs on pressing the "Submit" button. I'd guess the message comes from the exception handling for "Submit". The message displayed is misleading, I don't think the exception has anything to do with spam. The I/P address in the message is not mine, it belongs to sucuri.net. Neither this I/P or my actual I/P are blacklisted on Spamhaus. Another interesting thing is that, if I do a traceroute to Quicksandfans.com, the I/P on the last hop reported also belongs to sucuri.net, so I assume they are in some way linked to GoDaddy.

Re: Strange message about IP being blocked
Ok, so we're probably ok now.
I was in a bit of a wait and see position regarding resources on this, and unfortunately the problem decided to get much worse in the middle of some travelling. I drove thirteen hours yesterday and now have (friendlier) access to the right machine for dealing with this.
The feature that was going haywire has been disabled. I may switch it back on down the road for trouble shooting purposes. But I don't see that happening any time soon.

Re: Strange message about IP being blocked
Great to hear that this is sorted out. Thanks for your efforts, they are much appreciated.
Is there anything we should be wary of or avoid doing for the time being and any restrictions on what we do?
Edit: Done some testing, posted some images all went fine. Had a couple of responses, so people are getting back on the site. Looking good!
