Dear admins,

how does this private message system works exactly?

Today i did receive a notification via E-Mail that another member did write me a PM, but over here i do see nothing (no new message). This was the second time i did encounter that (at least as far as i remember)....

It's most likely that your inbox is full. After you delete a few older messages, the new ones will appear.

Nope, there are just a handful of old messages in the Inbox

Other possibilities include confusing multiple screen names or (more likely) the sender deleted the message from his/her outbox before you had a chance to open it.

This seems possible, although i don't know why someone should do that. Change of mind??

I suppose. The main thing is that although Kookus and I don't monitor the messaging activity on the board, everything seems to be functioning ok.

After deleting old messages, you have to click a link to release the new ones in order for them to appear.

What? Where? And how do i know if there are new mails at all? Boggy, just write me one and we will see what happens

Near the top of the page you will be given a link to release any messages that were being held, and it will tell you. If the messages were deleted on the sender's side (deleted from their outbox) before you could access them, then there won't be anything to release. If you have deleted messages, and now have less than 50 in your inbox, then you should easily receive the message I am sending you.
