Re: Website latency?
I am observing the same thing. ALso, I can add that I am not observing it with the Studio website, which I believe uses the same hosting company, so it is likely not the host.
Studio 588 currently offers more than 2200 different HD and QD quicksand videos and has supported production of well over 2400 video scenes and other projects by 13 different producers. Info may be found at:

I haven't been having any issues. I don't suppose you two are coming in from the same region?

Northern Louisiana for me. And for now it seems to be working normally.

Re: Website latency?
Yes, it does seem to have perked back up (since this morning even).
I suspect it is/was a hosting issue. A couple weeks ago, I received an email regarding the hosting account. It was to announce that our domain had been migrated to a new server. But I believe that this change had already been completed before the slowdown. I only mention it to point out the fact that although several domains (sites) may share the same hosting provider, they may not be utilizing the same resources. Also, we are invoking at least one SQL process, which would be operating on a different server, and be another potential source of slowness.
Hopefully, the slowness has passed. I'll contact the service provider if it returns for any length of time.

Re: Website latency?
I noticed the delayed response here too, in southern BC, Canada, recently. In fact, I had trouble directly downloading pictures by right-clicking on their thumbnails and selecting "Save Link As..." from the pop-up menu, because there would be a noticeable delay before the download dialogue box came up, at which point, the filename for each picture was the same, "file.php" instead of the actual <NameOfPicture>.jpg. But, I got around that problem by viewing each picture, and then saving it. For a while, I thought it had something to do with my recent installation of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, or my internet connection. But today, I am happy to see that this site is responding quickly again.
