It will need a small raid drive, because the data won't be huge, but it will be very important not to lose it. The PC will be stand-alone for security's sake. I plan to sneaker-net files from it to a connected PC as-needed.
I was actually thinking to set up a LINUX install for the stand-alone, to make viruses and such another step harder to send over, as the connected PC will be running Winblowz 7. I do want to start with a new PC, though, complete from whatever vendor. The database I will put on it will need to run under whatever OS the stand-alone box uses, and be friendly to a raid drive, and preferably run SQL. (Long ago, when I was in college, I ROCKED at SQL, but I didn't have to set up my own server then, and was also a lot smarter, somehow)
If any of you have done something like this, and wouldn't mind typing to me about it, I would like to do some reading.
Gonna need to set up a stand-alone PC.
