I like the "Download Helper" plugin for Firefox. Works perfectly every time!

Previously I used http://keepvid.com/, which sometimes failed
There is free stand-alone "YouTube downloader" http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/
Now I mostly use YouTube video downloader - extension for Opera 11. It simply adds button "Download" under each video (between the buttons "Embed" and "Flag as Inappropriate"). By pressing the button you get the drop-down list of supported formats for this video.
There’s so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Realmedia Player seems to work great for downloads , for youtube, or just about any other embedded video in either Firefox or IE

Speaking of this, I totally regret not locally saving these "La Talpa 2" episodes locally when I had the chance:

Did anyone else happen to save them?

This disappearance offers a good reminder not to take posted material for granted as perpetually available!

Yep. After all, the rightful owner of the material, that they worked so hard to produce, might actually expect to receive some compensation for their hard work and might take offense to someone posting it for free.

The odd thing is that they left many other "La Talpa" episodes posted.

I wonder why they picked these two for removal?

I wish the company would make them available for purchase!

YouTube requires that the owners of the copyrighted material formally complain about the videos that they want removed. So if one person posted three videos, and another person posted two videos, there's a chance that only one of them got "caught".

Don't get me wrong! I fully believe in the rights of people to have the freedom to post anything they want on YouTube. But when it's in violation of copyright laws, then that's crossing the line. The folks here (Duncan, Dave, Fred, and all the others) put a lot of time and effort into their work. And when I find one of their posts on YouTube I'm very quick to bring it to their attention (in a private message, of course).

Have you tried contacting the folks at La Talpa directly? Perhaps they do have a way for you to buy the videos.

Eddie

P.S. Mods... Sorry about hijacking the thread. Feel free to split it off if necessary!
