Allow me to add something here: Quite often I see people come in to chat, stay a few minutes without saying anything, and then go. In quite a few cases I have talked to people about that and found they were 1) using a cell phone or a similar device, and 2) tried to say things but couldn't. In at least a half dozen cases I know of the problem has been resolved after they updated the Java in their cell phone.
