changes?

Postby schlamm » Fri Feb 07, 2014 8:07 pm

Board looks very different and no longer changes a topic's color when a new entry has been made?
If this is 'new and improved', I'd prefer old and left alone

The board is being upgraded to the latest version of software. This is required for stable operation of the board. In fact, most folks do not realize anything has happened.

The default style works properly, but some of the customizations that have been done for QSF (chat room etc.) are causing issues with the non-standard themes. Kookus is working on it. A formal announcement regarding the upgrade and other board stats will be made when it's complete. :geek:

Thank you for the post though, sometimes stuff like this can be the symptom of a real problem.

I thought it was just me.
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

As problematic as this now seems to be, it doesn't make any sense to roll back to the older version.

I suggest using the default theme until we get an all clear from Kookus. ;)

Yeah, I think we're all good with that idea. We just didn't know what was going on. No biggee.

I noticed the very obvious difference right away on Thursday Feb 6'th, when all the member info/avatars have been flipped over to the right hand side of the pages instead of the left. It seems a little awkward to look at, but it will only be a matter of time before I get used to it.
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

Well, don't get too used to it. ;) We should be able to get it sorted out.

phpBB made some radical changes to the English language pack files. If we knew it was going to be anything other than a standard upgrade (security issues etc.), we would have announced it ahead of time. Kookus is rebuilding some of the style sheets from scratch in order to accommodate the changes into the custom themes.

Should be fixed, now. If nothing has changed for you as of this post, try clearing out your browser cache. There may be some things I missed, so please let us know if you find anything out of place.

I changed everyone's style over to the new mod, but if, for some reason, you liked things the other way, you can change it back in your user control panel. I also disabled the green style until it can be updated and fixed... apologies to anyone who was using that.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
